A 3 yr. Old Taps on «These Itchy Boo-Boos»

Summer 2008 was a wet one in Iowa.  Abundant rains created lots of flooded areas and a thriving, blood-thirsty mosquito population.

My almost 3 year old daughter Sabrina spent her days playing in the backyard, and she turned out to be quite a mosquito «magnet».  Her tiny arms were covered with big, red, itchy blotches («boo-boos»), and my medicine cabinet arsenal of over-the-counter remedies seemed unable to deliver more than 5 or 10 minutes worth of itch-free playtime for my little girl.

And then it dawned on me -- EFT!  I asked Sabrina is she would allow me to tap on her a bit, and with her permission, I started on the Karate Chop area, still looking for just the «right» words, so that she would understand them as well.

She recognized my dilemma.  Looking at me with her big hazel eyes, she offered, «How 'bout THESE ITCHY BOO-BOOS?»

Couldn't be more perfect!  Relieved, I did just two rounds on «these itchy boo-boos», when she smiled and said, «Thanks, Mom - I'm fine!», and ran outside to chase yet another butterfly.

I just stood there, fascinated, and murmured under my breath, «Thanks, Gary!»

Follow-up: later that day, I noticed that Sabrina's red, irritated skin assumed an almost normal looking appearance, with barely visible mosquito bites. The itchy sensation never returned!
